This publication is the proceedings of a symposium jointly organized by the International Commission on Groundwater (ICGW) of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and the Istituto Superiore di Sanita, Rome. The objectives of the symposium were to explore drinking water contamination health risks from a multidisciplinary perspective and to exchange experiences in risk assessment and management from developed and developing countries. The symposium was a follow-up to a report work of an ICGW Working Group on Groundwater Contamination Risk Assessment*.
This proceedings volume provides an accurate representation of the technical presentations at the symposium, while at the same time presenting more detail on selected topics. It includes 28 extended papers from the sessions on :

and 33 extended abstracts from all the other sessions. The volume aims to serve as a useful interdisciplinary international reference on assessing and managing drinking water health risks. The titles and authors of the contributions are listed.
