UNESCO-WMO Standing Group on
the International Glossary of Hydrology


In 1992, UNESCO and WMO published in hard copy the second edition of the International Glossay of Hydrology in English, French, Russian and Spanish (UNESCO). This edition has been the basis of an electronic edition to which others languages have been added (Arabic, German, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, Turkish and Chinese and probably soon Polish, Slovenian and Italian). A third edition in five languages (Arabic, English, French, Russian and Spanish) is under preparation, prepared by the UNESCO-WMO Standing Group on the International Glossary of Hydrology. This group met recently (13-17 January 2003) in Paris at UNESCO Headquarters. The publication of the third edition of the Glossary is scheduled by the end of 2004
